In preparation for the Research-Article Report that each student must submit later in the semester, students must submit at least three “Article Info Sheets” (AI Sheets for short) that provide key information about articles each student is considering for use in the assignment. I will then read the AI Sheets to determine which articles do, in fact, qualify as the proper kind for the assignment. I can also give each student feedback on potential issues with each article he/she is considering.
Before searching for articles for the Research-Article Report, read the guidelines for the assignment in your Portfolio Assignment Guidelines packet (or following this link: Research-Article Report Guidelines) and make sure you understand what types of articles are to be used for the assignment. Then locate at least articles you are considering using for the assignment and print out or otherwise put together an Article Info Sheet for each. You will submit these two or three weeks before the assignment is due in order to have them okayed by me (due date indicated on your Course Schedule).
Each AI Sheet must contain the following components:
Many times a photocopy of the first page of the article will suffice but if it is missing any of the aforementioned components, you must supply these yourself (i.e., write down a component such as number of pages on the photocopy before you submit it). When students search a database for article titles, such as EBSCO, it is usually possible to print out the article’s full citation and abstract. Such a printout, if complete, will, in itself, work as an AI Sheet.
