Course Objectives
This hands-on course is designed to prepare you for the MCSE certification exam and for the challenges you will face as a Microsoft networking professional. Lectures, projects and exercises reinforce skills as they are learned. The text includes CoursePrep Test Preparation software will help get you ready for the exam day. Specific topic coverage includes: Introduction to Windows Server 2003, Managing Hardware Devices, Creating and Managing Users, Implementing and Managing Groups, Managing Access to Files, Managing Disk and Data Storage, Advanced File System Management, Implementing and Managing Printing, Implementing and Using Group Policies, Administering a Server, Monitoring Server Performance, Managing and Implementing Backups and Disaster Recovery.

This site contains class notes, PowerPoint slides, class announcements, the course syllabus, test dates, and other information for the course. Answers to the end of chapter review questions, student assignment files, and hands-on projects can also be obtained from the site.
All students are requested to obtain an e-mail account. If you have any questions about the course or need assistance, please contact me in person or by telephone during office hours; or by e-mail at any time. Also, you may submit the end of chapter case project assignments in class on the due date or by e-mail with a date stamp of 5:00 P.M. on the due date. E-mail submissions should be as an attachment in Microsoft Word format.
Grading and Evaluation Criteria
Grading – A>94%, A- >90%, B+>87%, B>84%, B->80%, C+>77%, C>74%, etc. based on
Attendance – Attendance is very important to your success as a student. Points covered during lecture will show up on the exams. It is your responsibility to keep up with the class work if you must be absent. If you miss a quiz you MUST make up that quiz before the next class. No Exceptions! Homework assignments are due at the start of class. Late assignments will receive fewer points. When a section is finished all assignments from that section must be turned in or they will not receive any points.
Plagiarism – The school policy on cheating and behavior is in the Student Handbook. Familiarize yourself with the rules so there will be no surprises.
