GRADING
Students will contract for a grade.
The contract is to give the student a goal and give the student an
opportunity to be responsible for their own learning.
Student must decide what grade they want before the first video tape
is due. However, all texts must
be at one level. Two videotaped texts are due during the semester.
Student may make an appointment to evaluate practice videotapes with
Instructor at any time. If student does not
pass grad competency, student will receive an “F.”
All texts of the same level (wpm) must be completed for a grade.
Students are not allowed to mix texts from different levels.
Each evaluation for each text is worth 70 pts. (interpreting) and 65 pts.
(transliterating). Each recording of text must be done in classroom 7B under the
direction of the instructor.
Instructor
will pick the text for the student at the time of recording.
Percent will be figured by the percentage of points out of the total.
Student must earn at least 70% accuracy to pass.
Kirkwood does not give an A+.
