Education:
Morris has the following degrees: Associate of Science Degree from
Southeastern Community College, West Burlington, IA and Bachelors of
Science Degree from Iowa State University and majoring in
Agricultural Education. Morris received his Master of Arts
Degree from Truman State University (formerly Northeast Missouri
State University) at Kirksville, Mo. Major in Counseling with
an emphasis in Personnel Development.
Professional
Experience:
Morris taught Vocational Agriculture at Jesup High School for 2
years and ventured in the Agri-Business Industry as a Agronomist for
Wyffels Hybrid of Atkinson, Il. and Three Rivers Farm Service in
Manchester, IA. Morris joined Kirkwood Community College in
1979 as a Agri-Marketing Instructor and later became the Coordinator
of the program. Morris made the transition in mid-80's and
finished his Counseling Degree and join the Student Development
staff as a Counselor and coordinated our Job Placement
Services. Morris had started Job Fairs at KCC and the
Agriculture Job Fair as it is still a major event every November and
it has over 50 employers attending every year.
Presently, Morris has general counseling duties, serves as
Perkins representative for the Agricultural Science department and
the Diesel Power program. Morris also teaches Successful
Job-Seeking Skills, Employment Seminar, Career
Decision Making and Time Management
classes. Also, Morris is involved in Career Directions
Workshop and TGIF. Morris is very active
in working with High Students to Returning Adults in Career
Planning. He uses many assessments tools to help clients in
deciding which career they want to pursue. Morris uses the
following assessment tools with his clients: Myers-Briggs Type
Indicator, Career Assessment Inventory or Strong
Campbell Interest Inventory or Choices.

Awards:
Morris has received Kirkwood Community College Ambassador of the
Year Award in 1991; President and Past President of Iowa Community
College Student Association; Past President of Ag-Exec.'s of Linn
County; Past President of Employment Specialist Professionals;
Certified Trainer of MBTI.
