 Doors and Windows
Installing the Doors and Windows come next.

The front with the windows installed.

The front concrete proch is poured and formed.
The area must be roped off until it sets.

Once the concrete cures, it can have control joints sawcut into it.  The purpose of these joints is to help control where the concrete will crack.

This machine is used for many things!  With these boards in place it was used to lift the workers
up to set the rear windows.  It also has a scoop to move the earth around and adjust the grade.

Our front door.  When we brought it to our site it was slightly off the frame.  Also it is made
for a 2x4 exterior wall and we have a 2x6.  We'll be making some adjustments.

The roof shingles are here!

The shingles installed.

A view of the back with the shingles installed.

A composite view of the interior with the windows in place.  Each day it is easier to visualize what the final result will be.

The workers placed an expandable material around the perimeter of this future patio.  This material will let the concrete slab move a bit as it heats up and cools throughout the day.  The concrete will be less likely to crack because this material was installed.  The slab will also be pinned to the sides so it doesn't move away from the walls. The metal flashing protects the bottom of the wall from moisture.
