Two details of the siding.  There are many different accessories available for vinyl siding.  This one is for our dryer vent.

Under our front windows will be window boxes. I had to find the right thickness of board to help us mount the boxes onto the wall.  This board is actually a type of plastic that won't rot.  I'm thinking of making the window boxes of the same material.
