Gypsum
Board
Not many exterior shots today. The day is wet and the site muddy. There
is much to see inside however.
This is our only exterior shot. The curb was cut today preparing the
area for our driveway.
Gypsum board was delivered to the site. It was spread out among the
rooms.
They placed it vertically. In spots such as this one where the gypsum
board
touched concrete, they placed spacers underneath to prevent them getting
damp.
Gypsum board is first placed on the ceilings.
Gypsum Board is then placed on the walls. It is placed horizontally
to make it easier to tape and mud later.
A view of our bathroom exhaust fan. It will exhaust to our soffit vent.
This prevents
putting another hole in our roof or exhausting out into the attic area (which
isn't a good idea).
These insulation blankets placed on the concrete walls are a new requirement
here in the city.
Any exterior wall needs to be insulated at least four feet down from grade.
Here is a little detail I added for future remodeling. since my Family
Room will be finished, the only way to get wires from one end of my house
to the other is through this chase. I just added a piece of string
from one end to the other. Now I can more easily pull whatever wires
I might need in the future.
