Taping/Finishing/Painting
The gypsum board is in place now and the seams are taped, holes filled, and
texture sprayed. The first coat of paint is also sprayed on the walls and
ceilings.

The finisher used these attachments on his feet to help him reach the ceiling.
He also had scaffolding in the living room area.
Everything on the gypdsum board was located before it was cut.

The windows were also covered while the first and second coat of paint was
sprayed on.
The contractor removed the cover so there would be some ventilation.
Notice the different types of textures on the different surfaces. The
walls have a light orange peel and the ceilings a light popcorn.
Typically the ceilings have a heavier texture to hide any uneveness.
One of the reasons we don't have the finish steps installed. Texturing
and painting can be messy!
We made a slight modification to the location of the carpet line and the
vinyl in the Dining/Living Rooms.
We drew the line of where the transition would occur right on the plywood
subfloor.
A brief note regarding the exterior - this week I spent a very wet Wednesday
working on this manhole! As the rough grading was in place we felt
the manhole was going to be too low so I adjusted it. After getting
the OK from the city I opened the manhole, took off the 150+ lbs casting,
put on a 220+ lb concrete ring (to make it higher) and then put the casting
back on! I did this only with the help of a 36" crowbar. Those
extra inches in height really do help!
